Around the year 1880 there was a fight between the upper caste Hindus and Nadars.  The affected Nadars become Christians and built a church and a parsonage.  Now the upper caste people are also willing to accept Christ. In Kacheri Thalavaipuram a church was built in 1930 by Rev. Evans. Another Church was built in Vellaram in 1995.  In Keela Eral a new church was dedicated in 1991. A new church has been built in Keelacheithalai in 1999.   In Kollamparambu there is a need for a missionary.
