Shanthinagar came into existence in the year 1972. Palayamkottai Pastorate had built a small church (18ft x 15ft) in Shanthinagar in 1975. This Church was extended twice. In 1982, the present big church (120ft x 4ft') was built and it was dedicated on 22 of May 1988 for the Glory of the Lord. The name of the church is Christ Church, Shanthinagar.
